Youth Activities

Mayfair Community Centre is open for young people during school term times. It is run by Adrian and Joe.

On Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:00 and Fridays from 3:30 to 7:00 we offer a 'drop-in' youth club for young people aged 11-18 years.

In the Friday session there is a Spin Project running. We are asking what is important to young people? And how do they communicate what is important to them to the whole community. Use workshops, websites, social networks...

Wednesday 6:00 - 9:00 pm Reach Project (Not Drop In)

A team of young people will decide on a community project and then develope the project. Volunteers are required to help run the project.

Membership

On your first visit to Mayfair you will be asked to complete a membership form. Membership is free. If your parents/carers would like a more formal arrangement, and you are between 11 and 14 years old, you can pre book for specific evenings. Staff Mayfair Community Centre have trained staff on hand at all times to offer support and guidance when needed. All staff and volunteers have enhanced CRB clearance. In addition we work with other organisations to offer services. These include: Charges We have to cover the costs of providing these facilities so there is a charge of £1.50 entry fee per evening or part of an evening. The 'Star Bar' cafe offers: hot and cold drinks snacks. tuck There may be additional charges depending on which activities are used or requested (e.g. art work materials/trips and outings). An amenity fund exists for families on a low income. Speak to Ella in confidence if you wish to access this service.
