Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing that restores and maintains health by the insertion of fine needles into acupuncture points just beneath the body surface. It is extremely effective in a wide variety of conditions through its power to stimulate the mind and body's own healing response. The healing therapy of acupuncture is used all over the world including in hospitals. During a treatment session you will receive complete attention to discuss your problem(s) in a confidential and comfortable setting.
Potted History
The use of acupuncture was over 2,000 years ago, mainly in China and also in India and Japan. People were less rushed then and the healers had more time to observe their fellow humans. From these observations we have a healing system of acupuncture to enable us to be well and pain free again.
Method
To relieve a condition one, or sometimes more, very fine needle tips (like a hair) can be used in special areas on the skin called "points". There are many points that have different affects physically and mentally to achieve well-being.
Time and cost
The first appointment is one and a half hours to allow for a thorough consultation and the first treatment and costs £50. Subsequent appointments are three-quarters of an hour and consist of discussion of any changes and then the next treatment.
Qualifications
The Licence of Acupuncture is awarded only after a 3 year training course which is quality checked by The British Acupuncture Council, Tel:0208 735 0400. Every qualified acupuncturist must do continual professional development.
