Fundraising and Lottery

The Strettons'Mayfair Trust is a Registered Charity and much of our funding comes from grant applications to various organisations. However, local fundraising is a large part of the work we do at Mayfair and we greatly value the generosity of the local community.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

We have a very active Fundraising Committee which organises many social events including:

• quiz nights

• music evenings

• coffee mornings

• Dinners, dances     ............and much more.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?

We are always looking for new ideas. You can:

• join the Fundraising Committee.

• become a 'Friend' of Mayfair

• join the monthly lottery

• make a donation or bequest.

MAYFAIR LOTTERY

How does it work?

• You enter the Lottery by 'purchasing' one or more Lottery numbers.

• They’re yours for up to 12 months depending on when, in the administration year, you buy your number(s).

• At the end of the administration year you will be invited to renew your 'purchase'.

• Lottery numbers are allocated to you - you cannot choose your own.

• There is no limit to how many numbers you can 'own'.

• Each month your number(s) will go into a draw for cash prizes with the potential for any of your numbers to win up to £100

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?

One Lottery number costs £1 per calendar month.
Our administration year runs from June to May of the following year.

Examples
If you 'purchase' a number in June, the total cost for that administration year will be 12 x £1 = £12.
If however, you purchase a number in any other month, the total cost will be £1 for each remaining month of that administration year.

 eg if you buy a number in November, the cost will be 7 x £1 = £7.

HOW DO I BUY MY LOTTERY NUMBERS?

• You must be at least 16 years of age to join the Lottery.

• You can pay for your number(s) by cash, cheque or standing order (runs from June to May of the following year).

• Once registered, you can purchase further Lottery numbers at any time.

• To purchase, please complete the Purchase Form, which you will find in the Fundraising and Lottery brochure obtainable from Mayfair, and return it together with your payment (if appropriate) to Mayfair.   

WHEN IS THE LOTTERY DRAW MADE?

The monthly draw will take place in the Mayfair Community Centre at 10.30 am on the last Monday of each month.

There are cash prizes of £100, £50, £20 and £10.

The winning numbers will be published in Church Stretton's FOCUS magazine and will also be displayed in Mayfair Community Centre.
We have over 500 numbers registered, raising over £3000 annually for the work of Mayfair.
