What is the Walking for Health Scheme ?
The
Walking for Health Scheme aims to improve the
health and fitness of more than a million people,
especially those who do little exercise, by encouraging
them to walk regularly.
Who
is it for?
Its for
you if you don't walk much at the moment. Do any of these
excuses sound familiar?
Why is walking so good for you?
It's free and easy
No special equipment is needed
You can start slowly
It improves your confidence and
energy
It has great health benefits
I don't want to walk alone
You don't have to. We offer regular guided walks in
Church Stretton and surrounding areas.
Led by trained walk leaders.
In small groups.
Gentle walks - perfect if you are
recovering from illness.
A great chance to meet people and
make friends.
Different walks for different
abilities.
A leader at the front and back so
you'll never get left behind or be too slow.
When do the walks take place?

Its also
a good idea to bring a drink of water.
Is there anything
else I should know?
You will be
asked to complete a short health check questionnaire
before your first walk with us. If you're unsure of your
fitness to take part due to health reasons, just mention
it next time you see your GP or Practice nurse.
