A helping hand for carers

As a carer, you also deserve support. As we come to the end of Carers Week, it’s worth signposting you towards some of our services.

The Beacon – An activities and care day service that can help people with a wide variety of needs including social isolation, physical disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. All staff are fully trained and qualified to help meet your individual care and support needs. We can provide support and advice to carers as well as providing respite for the day. Carers are invited to all our extra activities and events.

The 44Bs – A day opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities. Designed to promote independence and wellbeing through activities and interactions, the 44Bs supports adults with learning disabilities from all over south Shropshire. It facilitates a friendly and sociable environment that allows individuals to develop skills and grow in confidence and can provide day respite and support for carers.

MAYSI – An information and support service. This could be anything from helping you to access benefits, and advice on equipment and care, to social opportunities to keep you well. If you are caring for a friend or relative and find that you need support, then give us a call. We will listen to you, help to identify your needs, offer choices, put you in touch with relevant services and support.

Support groups…
