Fairtrade – The Definition. Fair trade, defined simply, is when producers in developing countries are paid a fair price for their work, by companies in developed countries. It’s when the price we pay for products gives enough to producers for them to afford life’s essentials – like food, education and healthcare.
On a Thursday morning volunteers from Stretton Traidcraft sell fabulous foods and gifts in the Mayfair foyer. We support the ethos of fair trade and are delighted to host them.
Mayfair Community Centre’s IT suite provides a local access point for everyone to use the internet and get help and support. Drop in sessions providing consistent support each week run on a Monday and Wednesday. The IT suite is located on the first floor and all drop in sessions are open to everyone with friendly, helpful and welcoming volunteers who provide help and support with using computers and other digital devices for all levels of knowledge from beginners to advanced.
Support is also unique to the individual, so you can get help with the areas you need or want to explore. Everyone is welcome to use the drop in sessions and even bring in their own digital devices such as phones, tablet computers, laptops and more for help troubleshooting and to learn new things. The IT suite has a range of computers running Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems and WiFi access is available throughout. For course bookings or general enquiries please contact reception or alternatively come along to a drop in session and meet the team. Further development of the IT suite is ongoing to help deliver a great service to the local community and increase digital inclusion. We ask for a minimum donation of £1.50 per hour or £3.00 for the morning
Drop in times are: Monday 10am to 1pm or Wednesday 9.30am to 12.30pm
