Become a Friend

As a charity, Mayfair rely on financial support from our wonderful donors to continue to provide the services that our community needs. You could be a part of this by making a regular donation and becoming a ‘Friend of Mayfair’.

To make a regular donation, download our donation form here and drop it in to Mayfair reception, or post it to Mayfair Community Centre, Easthope Road, Church Stretton, SY6 6BL.

Alternatively you can click the ‘Donate to Mayfair’ button above and set up a regular donation online.

With costs increasing for all, raising funds for Mayfair has never been more difficult and your help means more to us than ever. Every pound you give makes an incredible difference to someone in your community – thank you!

Don’t forget that UK taxpayers can also Gift Aid any donations to Mayfair, which allows us to reclaim 25p tax on every £1 donated, increasing donations by 25% at no cost to you. You can fill in a Gift Aid form below that encompasses all donations that you make in the future and any you have made in the past 4 years.

Become a Member

This is your opportunity to help guide the way we work, by voting on proposals, selecting trustees and helping Mayfair to be democratic and responsive to the community.

There is no membership fee, however in the event that the Strettons Mayfair Trust is wound-up with debts in excess of assets, Members commit to making a contribution, not exceeding £10.

Donate Co-op dividends

Become a member of the Midcounties Co-operative and donate some or all of your dividend points to the Strettons Mayfair Trust. In this way, every time you shop at Midcounties Co-op you are contributing to Mayfair’s work. We are so pleased to receive support through this great community scheme. For more information for how you can sign up, the current value of points and other benefits, see the Midcounties Co-op website or ask for a sign-up form in store.

Thank you for investing in the future of our community.

Fundraising

The Strettons Mayfair Trust is a registered charity and local fundraising is really important to us. It allows us to continue to support the Strettons community, in new and innovative ways, ensuring local people have access to services and ways to support health and wellbeing.

We want to make sure the Mayfair Centre has the funding and ideas to survive and thrive for years to come, so if you have energy and inspiration to throw at an exciting new project, we’d love to here from you.

Charity fundraising is a great way to raise vital funds for a good cause while having tons of fun along the way. Whether you go it alone or with friends, in a group or club, at school, college or work, there are loads of easy fundraising ideas to help you raise money for Mayfair.

Legacies

Though we respect this is a sensitive subject, you may be interested to know you can show your support for Mayfair by making a bequest.

Leaving a gift in your will (sometimes called a legacy) to a charity you’ve previously supported, can continue to help a cause that’s close to your heart.

You’re completely in control of how much you choose to give and a gift to Mayfair in your will could make all the difference. It certainly did this last year – a difficult time for all charities, ourselves included.

In past years, legacies and memorial gifts have supported the purchase of a Ring and Ride bus, and our accessible Parker bath, and have helped us continue serving the community during the pandemic.

If you regularly shop online, why not sign up to the Giving Machine. By just going about your normal week, you will be donating a percentage of your purchases to Mayfair. It won’t cost you a penny and it’s simple to use – create a giving account and each time you shop online open the Giving Machine website or mobile app, click on the retailer link you want to shop at. This will automatically generate a donation to Mayfair.

There are lots of shops listed on the website, including Amazon, Sainsbury’s, Ebay, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Boots, Asda and the Train Line.

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers.

Volunteering with us can be a very rewarding experience and is a great way to meet new people while giving something back to your local community.

The Mayfair Shop

Our Shop is always stocked with an array of items carefully curated by a dedicated team of volunteers. From the ever-popular puzzles and paperbacks, to generously donated homewares and beautiful hand-sewn and knitted textiles. We have a regularly changing selection of greetings cards and special displays of work by local artists.

Many of the handmade items are supplied by the Crafty Ladies. Everything is made with love and great skill, so if you are looking for an unusual or meaningful gift, the Mayfair Shop is certainly the place to come and browse.

All proceeds from the Shop are used by Mayfair to provide services and activities for the community.

You can find the Shop just off the reception area in the Mayfair Centre.
