If you’re interested in hiring a space, for a professional event, work meeting or celebration, contact Mayfair Reception on 01694 722077. You’re very welcome to book in for a tour of the buildings, to check out all the options and discuss your requirements. We offer a competitively priced refreshments service and can support your event with a trolley of light refreshments, sandwich platters or a delicious buffet. By booking your events with us, you are helping to support our work. The fees from room hire feed back into Mayfair, allowing us to operate and to continue offering local services to our community.
Our largest room for hire, the Activity Room is situated on the first floor of the Mayfair Centre. The room boasts an attractive vaulted ceiling, and the space is adaptable and can be set up for meetings, classes, professional events or performances. Loft Arts hold their drama workshops here, but we’ve also hosted AGMs, super clubs and quiz nights.
A very sought-after space, the Jubilee Room is built in the round and encircled by windows looking out on to the courtyard and garden. With its modern furnishings, it provides a comfortable space for groups of up to 30 people and it is often booked for group get-togethers, exercise classes and talks. The armchairs immediately outside the room give the option of a break-out space to continue conversations or seek refreshment between sessions.
Situated in the Health and Wellbeing Centre, the Community Room is an ideal space for meetings or conferences. The well-lit space is easily accessed from the front of the building. It is equipped with a hearing loop, projector and screen, flip chart, and tables and chairs to suit. Refreshments can be pre-booked or more informally ordered from the Coffee Shop.
The main seating area in the middle of the Health and Wellbeing Centre has a large glass lantern roof, making this a light, bright venue even on the dullest of days. It has air conditioning and the use of a small kitchen. The furniture is modern and comfortable – a mix of dining tables and chairs, and low seating with coffee tables. This room would be perfect for any social event, exhibition or demo day at the weekend or in the evening.
Ideal for hosting a pop-up café, club lunch or awards dinner, the Café and kitchen can be hired together. We can also provide tea, coffee and biscuits to any room hire or a buffet lunch if required. Please ask for details and prices.
Our creative space, the Art Room is great for classes, demos or clubs. The airy skylights mean there’s plenty of natural light and the ambience of the room promotes creativity. It is set up for groups of 12 to paint or make. Equipped with basic supplies and a small art reference library, the nearby lift makes it easier for artists and practitioners to bring in more equipment for demos and classes.
A wonderful multi-purpose room, the Beehive is a comfortable, modern, convenient space for group meetings, talks or socials. It has a kitchen area that is DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant, offering wheelchair users a rise-and-fall sink and cooker hob.
We think this new area offers inclusivity to all our community – after all Mayfair is for everyone. It’s important that our spaces are fully accessible for wheelchair users or those with walking frames. We have a lift that gives access to the first floor of the Mayfair Centre. We also provide disabled and blue badge parking close to the two buildings, with accessible ramps and washroom facilities.
If you’re having trouble working from home and need a quiet space that offers good Wi-Fi, please check out our Star Bar. It has facilities to prepare drinks and snacks, and good access to other Mayfair areas. The space also works well for informal meet and greets, for networking events or for break-out sessions spilling over from the adjacent Activity Room.
At Mayfair there are a number of therapy rooms that can be used for complementary health and beauty, counselling sessions or one-to-one meetings, with a small reception space available for waiting clients. Equipped with therapy beds, armchairs and a desk space in each. They can even be booked for some quiet work, away from other distractions.
